Wedding Streamers ~ A Do-It-Yourself Idea

Last fall I had photographed Kristen and Andrew’s aboard the historic Midway Museum in San Diego Bay.  The Midway is a historic aircraft carrier that is now open as a museum and available for private events.   As Kristen and Andrew recessed up the aisle at the end of their ceremony, the guests waved great little streamers that not only added to the fanfare, but photographed really well.  These are such a fun idea, particularly in venues with restrictions preventing couples from throwing rice, flower petals, or blowing bubbles.  I was excited to learn that Andrew’s sister, Sarah, actually made them and even more excited when she shared her how-to for any of you do it yourself brides who feel like creating something fun and crafty.   She took 85 wooden dowels and spray painted them gold and attached ribbons to one end of the sticks with hot glue.  She then attached some little bells and wedding charms she found at a craft store to the ends of a few of the ribbons.  Thanks for the fun idea, Sarah!
