It is a pretty common occurrence for couples to lose the decision making momentum they have during their pre-wedding planning days after the wedding is over. I have had many brides say to me, “I must be your slowest bride ever!” when they take their time selecting their album images, approving their album proofs, etc. I have always was always been able to reassure everyone that they weren’t the slowest bride ever because, in the back of my mind, I knew the slowest bride ever was Katie Mac. Katie was married in the Fall of 2007 and I am happy to report that she finally put the stamp of approval on her album (with no changes) this week after nearly 27 months of being married. So, I lovingly and jokingly award Katie with the title of Slowest Bride Ever. With this month’s Olympics in mind, I can picture Katie standing on the top platform proudly wearing the gold medal that only comes with true dedication and commitment to photographic procrastination. Prospective brides will be happy to know that in the two years since Katie’s wedding, we have made many changes in our studio to help facilitate the decision making process and to get albums into brides hands MUCH faster. With our new changes in place, it will be impossible for anyone to even come close to challenging Katie’s record. Disclaimer: This post was made with Katie’s full consent and endorsement!
Jillian and Greg ~ Newport Beach Wedding
Jill and Greg had a beautiful wedding in Newport Beach at Holy Family Cathedral in Orange County, CA and had their reception at the Harborside Pavilion in Newport Beach, CA. Greg and my husband are first cousins, so I had a little bit of an inside scoop in their engagement and in their wedding planning. When they announced their wedding date would be very close to my due date with baby Peelle #2, we decided to have my primary associate, Tashena be the lead shooter for their wedding. I was sad that I wasn’t able to attend, but I had a pretty notable special event to tend to myself. Even though I was not there to be a part of Jill and Greg’s big day, Tashena and Colin did a beautiful job capturing so many fun elements and details of their wedding. I am a little jealous that I wasn’t there because it has been a long time since I have had a bride bold enough to brave the beach in her wedding gown (Hint, hint! San Diego brides!) Thank you to Tashena and Colin for capturing such beautiful memories that I know Jill and Greg love and that will be special for our family forever.
Ashley & Tony’s Wedding ~ Omni Hotel, Fort Worth
I photographed Ashley & Tony’s wedding at the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas. Ashley has a very clear eye for fashion that made this wedding’s details especially delicious. Their wedding was beautiful from start to finish! I would also like to say a big thank you to Allana, Anna & Danielle for all of your great images that contributed to this wedding.
February 24, 2010 - 10:06 am - bridesmaid holding the dress and walking across the street......yes please! great shot:)
Confession
I know for a fact that I have many, many blog readers. My blog count says that I average 500+ visitors per day, yet I have virtually no comments. I know that many of those hits might be from google bots and web crawlers, but I know that many of you are real. So, I invite you to confess your blog stalking and show a little love (or like) with your comments…
Emily & Sean’s Wedding ~ Four Seasons, Austin TX
I photographed Emily and Sean’s wedding at the Four Seasons Resort in Austin. Emily and I went to high school together, so it was really fun to reunite with her again to photograph her wedding. We had a great bridal shoot several months before the wedding, so I am posting a few of her bridals here–I can finally show them now that the wedding is over. Their full slideshow is online here.
Ashley & Adam’s Wedding ~ River Crest Country Club, Fort Worth TX
I photographed Ashley and Adam’s wedding in Fort Worth at St. Andrew’s and at River Crest Country Club and wanted to share some of the fun images from their wedding. It had been cold and raining the whole week of the wedding, and we were very lucky to have the sun come out and give us great light for some outdoor pictures. I loved Ashley’s hot pink Manolo Blahnik shoes, her fun reception hair accessory and loved the pheasant themed grooms cake made by Adam’s cousin. Their wedding slideshow is online here if you want to see more. Congrats Ashley & Adam!

Go-Go Baby Go!
As many of you know, I travel A LOT for weddings. Over the past year or so, I have photographed weddings in Fort Worth, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, Napa, Palo Alto, New York, Brooklyn and even Sea Island, Georgia. I have family and friends in most of the areas where traveling weddings take me, so many of those trips were with one or both of my babies tow. Traveling with babies can be daunting in and of itself, but after logging 50,000+ air miles with baby on board, I have become surprisingly streamlined and efficient. One of the gadgets that made my traveling life easier this past year was the Go-Go Babyz Travelmate. It is basically a set of wheels with a suitcase style handle that straps on to your existing car seat. The wheels are bigger versions of the type of wheels on in-line skates and do a remarkable job of maneuvering through airports and crowds. One little snap and VIOLA–you have an instant rolling travel machine! I have to admit that I loved hearing my son saying “Wheeeee” as I buzzed through the terminals. The picture here is for a visual reference, but it is one of the kids used in their ads and not my own baby.
Kate & Brice will be in the Knot!
I just heard from the editors at the Knot and Kate and Brice’s wedding has been selected for publication in the Knot Texas Fall/Winter 2010 edition! It will be awhile before the magazine hits news stands, but we are thrilled to have another wonderful couple featured in the Knot!
New Year, New Blog!
Welcome to our new blog! I am not really a resolution maker, but one of my goals for this year is to be a more diligent blogger. It was a goal last year also, but I pretty much fell off the blog wagon in mid-May.
In order to help me be a better blogger, I have invested in a totally new, custom ProPhoto blog from the folks at NetRivet.com. I also downloaded the WordPress application for my iPhone, so this year I can hopefully stay on top of things as I travel for the many travel/destination weddings we have in 2010.
This new blog is a work in progress, so stay tuned…
