I am getting back into photographing families and am totally loving it. I had taken a brief hiatus from the family photo side of things and am getting back into it again. I am saving most of my family session blog posts for after the holidays when the pictures make their big Holiday Card debuts, however, I do have to share these hilarious things that I found on Etsy in the Happy Acres Farm shop that fit around a camera lens so that kids will look at the camera. 
I just got back from a great trip to Texas where I photographed some great sessions from some long time and some new clients. I was especially looking forward to Sarah and Alex’s engagement session in Fort Worth. Alex lives in New York, Sarah lives in Fort Worth, and I live in San Diego–it took a little bit of coordination and a few layovers, but we finally ended up in the same city on one of the most beautiful days we could have asked for. I am looking forward to photographing their wedding on New Year’s Eve. Congratulations, Sarah & Alex!

I have photographed these girls since they were babies and it has been so fun to watch as they grow. A few weeks ago, we hit the beach with their family paddle board and their little bathing suits. They were very eager to show off some of their jumping skills…

What cuties!
Kaylee & Stephen had a gorgeous, vintage inspired wedding at the University of San Diego’s Immaculata Cathedral and romantic reception at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. I loved how the couple incorporated the mariachi band into the cocktail hour and displayed her mothers and grandmothers photos and wedding dresses. Plus, I always love weddings with the Navy sword arch. Congrats Kaylee & Stephen! Saija & Nate were married at the Prado in Balboa Park with a wedding inspired by the artwork of Edward Gorey. Their wedding incorporated many of the dark yet whimsical inspirations from the artist into their florals, decor, and stationery. Coordination by Ann Strobel with Ann’s Plans, florals by Rae Florae, cake by Flour Power, stationery created by the bride. Congratulations Saija & Nate!
